About The Book

For fans of Emily Giffin and Jane Green, this contemporary women’s novel about the messiness of friendship, betrayal, and the search for forgiveness is sure to become a book club favorite.

“Allison, I’m Morgan, the best friend you’ll ever have. Two years ago, you were in a car accident, and you’ve been in a coma ever since.” These are the words Morgan recites every week as she sits at Allison’s bedside, hoping beyond hope that her friend can hear her words.

What Morgan doesn’t know—what no one knows—is that Allison can hear.

As Morgan continues her weekly visits with Allison, she is careful to avoid running into Allison’s husband, who is also mourning his wife’s absence. The truth is, Morgan and Jackson have never liked each other. But outside circumstances push them into joining forces against Allison’s brother, who has filed a petition to end Allison’s life support. Now, working as a team, this unlikely pair must set aside their differences to focus on saving Allison’s life—and as they continue their fight, they start to lean on each other.

As Morgan and Jackson grow closer, Allison has a front-row seat to the ill-fated collision of her two favorite people. Will she ever wake up? And if she does, will it even matter?
