About The Book

Chung Chuen Ming is determined to finish his manhua and release it into the world. However, unfortunate circumstances have led him to need the help of a fellow artist in a collaboration that crosses the boundaries of the material world. This semi-autobiographical story follows Chung Chuen Ming, a dedicated assistant in the comics industry who aspires to create his own manhua. Determined to pursue his dream, he quits his assistant job to focus on his personal project. Tragically, just before completing his debut work, Chuen Ming succumbed to a sudden illness. However, his story doesn't end there; his spirit lingers, driven by the unfinished dream. Throughout his journey, he encounters challenges that compel him to collaborate with a fellow novice artist, Cheung Shan, leading to a creative and emotionally significant partnership.

About The Author

Wah Kee was first introduced to manga at the hair salon, where comic books were available for children to read while waiting. One of his favorite artists was Ryoichi Ikegami, an award-winning Japanese manga illustrator. After graduating from secondary school in the 90s, Wah Kee worked as a comic assistant at Hong Kong companies, where he was responsible for character art. In 2017, he made his artistic debut with a personal work, Makutsu. In 2021, he founded The Box Studio, a publishing company. “My creations mostly center on Hong Kong elements. And I like to create quirky manga and sometimes relaxing stories because [writing] the hilarious type is quite stressful,” he says, adding that it was hard to make ends meet as a comic artist. His latest manga, My Soul Mate, is based on his personal experiences.
