Cathy A. Smith is a master quillworker and beadworker, historian of the Northern Plains, and an Emmy-award-winning costume designer, known for her work on films such as Dances with Wolves. Initiated as a Lakota Double Woman Dreamer and Sun Dancer, she divides her time between the Black Hills of South Dakota and Nambe, New Mexico.
