About The Author

Shyamkali is from Banda district, and studied till class five, although she probably actually attended school for only two years, because then her father said there was no need to study, she wasn’t going to need to work as he was going to get her married into a household where she’d be looked after! She joined Khabar Lahariya in 2010 and did sales and rural reporting. She is currently a full-time chief reporter.
